CX190 Multi-Purpose Moulding
DUROPOLYMER®
Designer: Orio Tonini
Building on the success of the Orac Modern Collection the CX190 profile was introduced as part of the Modern 2.0 collection. This versatile U profile has a variety of applications.
The primary function being that of an indirect lighting profile. In this instance one of the 20mm high walls would be glued to the wall a short distance from the ceiling. For best results the inner recess requires an aluminium profile to disperse the heat emanating from the LED tape. Once the LED is fitted into the channel and wired to the driver our CX190 will create neat architectural lines of light. When used as an uplighter beneath atriums, or conservatory roofs the best effects will achieved by adding an opal diffuser over the LED tape.
In addition the CX190 can be used as a miniature skirting board, where the U channel is placed against the wall and creates a 30mm high profile which stands 20mm off the wall. The empty channel behind can be used to hide small cables, such as retro-fit broadband wiring or Hi-Fi cables.
The most daring use of CX190 it’s possible to suspend the profile on wires, and create DIRECT lighting channels, offering LED lighting to offices and corridors. Always remember to shield the LED tape with an aluminium bar or reflective tape, which will avoid any unsightly light egress and also promote longer LED life.
An additional function of our CX190 is as a delicate trim to finish off the edges of trimmed W108 Zig Zag wall panelling.
Recommended Adhesives
We recommended the use of FX400 and FDP700 Orac adhesives along the length of our profiles to ensure a good installation. On smaller Orac profiles being installed onto dry walls and ceilings (where any new plaster has had at least 6 months to thoroughly dry out) FDP500 can be used to fix mouldings, and FL300 can be used as a filler, which is especially useful for smoothing off external corners (once FX400 has cured) and on joints with uneven ceilings. Please visit the product pages in the Adhesives section for further information.
